60. “The Girlfriend”
Directed by and starring Robin Wright, this five-episode limited-series drama is based on Michelle Frances’ novel of the same name. Co-starring Olivia Cooke, the series explores themes of love, greed, and power and centers on a mother (Wright), whose seemingly perfect life is disrupted when her son (Laurie Davidson) introduces his girlfriend (Cooke) to the family. Dubious from the jump, the mother suspects the girl may not be who she claims to be.
Premiere Date: TBD via Prime Video.
59. “Chad Powers”
Glen Powell may be transforming into a bonafide movie star, but the actor still has time for TV and self-generated projects. Created by himself and Michael Waldron (“Loki”), the series centers on a college football hotshot QB who very publicly destroys his career, he disguises himself as another person and tries to sneak back into college ball via a losing Southern team. Co-stars include Steve Zahn, Toby Huss, Perry Mattfeld, Clayne Crawford, Wynn Everett, Colton Ryan, Xavier Mills, and more.
Premiere Date: February 2024 via Hulu.
58. “The Madison”
At the beginning of 2024, it looked like super producer Taylor Sheridan was going to have a thin year. But cut to November and four series landed with three months of each other. A sort-of “Yellowstone” spin-off set after the events of the series’ fifth season, it’s been said the series explores the grief and human connection that follows when a New York City family moves to Montana’s Madison River valley. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, and Ben Schnetzer, Kurt Russell was also once reported as someone considering participation, but it’s unclear if’s dropped out, or his role is minimal (maybe the death that causes grief?)
Premiere Date: TBD, and presumably on Paramount+.

57. “1923” (Season 2)
2024 gave us Taylor Sheridan’s “Lioness,” Mayor of Kingstown,” “Tulsa King,” “Land Man,” and “Yellowstone,” so presumably 2025, will be a little less insanely busy, but who knows with this guy; he’s fast. Another series we can pretty much bank on is the second and final season of the “Yellowstone” prequel “1923.” Starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, as the elders of the Dutton family during Prohibition. New members to the cast include Jennifer Carpenter and Julia Schlaepfer and the returning cast includes Brandon Sklenar, Julia Schlaepfer, Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Isabel May, Brian Geraghty and James Badge Dale.
Premiere Date: February 23 on Paramount+.
56. “Spider-Noir”
For years, Amazon’s been trying to get an entire “Spider-Man” live-action universe going to no avail despite many tries. But suddenly, Spider-Man Noir, the character made famous by Nicolas Cage in the animated hit “Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse,” kicked into motion exceptionally quickly in 2024. Developed by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, Cage reprises his Noir character in a story about an aging, down-and-out private investigator grappling with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero in 1930s New York. Brendan Gleeson, Lamorne Morris, Jack Huston, and Li Jun Li co-star.
Premiere Date: TBD via MGM+ for Amazon Studios.

55. “Amadeus”
Actor/writer/director Will Sharpe has become quite the creative force in the last few years and has popped even more thanks to a role on “The White Lotus” and the writing and directing of “The Electric Life of Louis Wain.” His latest starring role is a mini-series written by Joe Barton (“Black Doves”) that chronicles a fictional version of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s life. Paul Bettany stars as his rival Salieri, and the series also includes Gabrielle Creevy, Rory Kinnear, Lucy Cohu, and more.
Premiere Date: TBD via Sky Max in the U.K., and uncertain who will pick up in the U.S.
54. “Marvel Zombies”
An animated spin-off from the hit “What If…?” episode, this brief four-episode mini-series is meant to act as the sequel to that story where the remaining surviving Avengers have to fight off a global zombie pandemic. Headed to Wakanda, the one place on earth not infected, while zombies killed most of the team, Marvel confirmed 18 new characters joining the fold, including the new Black Widow, Yelena, and more. Marvel’s animated “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” could also arrive this year.
Airdate: TBD via Disney+.
53. “The Paper”
Originally called a reboot, Peacock’s next show in “The Office” universe is just a spinoff set in the same universe and plays like another mockumentary-style comedy. This time it’s set in the offices of a dying Midwestern newspaper and centers on its publisher’s efforts to revive it with volunteer reporters. Co-created by American ‘Office’ showrunner Greg Daniels and “Nathan For You” co-creator and writer Michael Koman, the series stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Tracy Letts and more.
Premiere Date: TBD via Peacock.

52. “M. Son of the Century”
With fascism on the rise and normalized, the timing is perfect for this biographical/historical drama mini-series about Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. Based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Antonio Scurati, filmmaker Joe Wright (“Atonement”) directs the entire eight-episode affair. Featuring rising Italian star Luca Marinelli (“Martin Eden”) the series centers on the early political career of Mussolini in the 1920s just one year before he muscled his way into a dictatorship.
Premiere Date: TBD, but some of it already premiered in Venice, and it will arrive sometimes next year via Sky Original.
51. “Eyes of Wakanda”
Created by Todd Harris, a storyboard artist on “What If…?” and ‘Wakanda Forever,’ who also directs the series, was co-produced by Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media company. “Eyes Of Wakanda” is a brief, four-part limited series that follows Wakandan warriors throughout history as they retrieve vibranium artifacts. Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, and Steve Toussaint are among the voice actors, and the series will include an Iron Fist warrior, among other connections to the MCU.
Premiere Date: August 6, 2025 on Disney+.
